Requirements for materials submitted by authors to the editorial office:

The requirements for submitting the manuscripts to be published in the “Ahrarna nauka” State Publishing House of the NAAS of Ukraine

The order of submitting the materials to be published

The Publishing House publishes the materials of novel scientific research in the fields of agrarian sciences — original theoretical and practical studies, methodological materials, bibliographic and historical investigations that have not been published before.

Along with the manuscript, the author shall send the Recommendation for publishing from the academic council of the scientific institution in which the work has been performed and three reviews, compiled by scientists of the relevant scientific profile.

The rules of manuscript formatting

1. The author shall submit a printed manuscript to the Publishing House and send a file with the text of the manuscript prepared in MS Word (file with the .doc extension) using Times New Roman font (size 14) and line spacing of 1.5 to the editorial office by e-mail.

2. The volume of the manuscript shall not exceed 10.0 standard publisher’s signatures, namely, 240 pages of the text. The number of cited sources (references) shall be up to 10 % of the total volume of the manuscript.

3. The material may contain illustrations, but not more than five (5) figures per one author’s sheet (conventional printed sheet) i.e. per 22 pages of the manuscript.

4. The formulas should be typed using the formula editor MathType 5.0/5.1 or more modern versions; the font size should be 11. It is prohibited to type formulas using Word.

5. The following rules should be applied while typing the text:

• use en dash (–);
• apostrophe (’);
• degree (°) from Symbol set;
• end the paragraph with Enter without a space;

• use one space between numbers and measurement units (except for °С and %), for instance: p. 67; 5 cm; 2 kg; а² + b² = с; but 4%; 4°С;

• use en dash (–) between years and centuries without any spaces;

• an interval in a text or a table, consisting of dots between letters or figures, should not contain any spaces prior to and after three dots 62…63%.

6. The following rules should be considered while making tables in MS Word:

• tables should be divided into columns and rows, the text on the same horizontal line should be typed on a separate line;

• the height and width of rows and columns should be adjusted automatically;

• all the texts in the table should have left alignment;

• table cells should not contain extra paragraph symbols (Enters), i.e. each line of the data should be typed in a separate table line.

7. Drawings should be made in Corel Draw 8.0/9/10, Adobe Illustrator 7.0/10 or Photoshop and presented in vector graphics. To make and process photos and illustrations, please use Photoshop 5.0/5.5/6.0 (bit-mapped graphics).

8. If the author can make drawings and photos directly for the layout, their size should be adjusted to the format of the publication, and they should be submitted to the Publishing House as separate files with the .tif extension. In the file names, Latin letters or numbers that correspond to the numbering of the figures as reproduced in the publication should be used.

9. Black and white photographs and drawings with background filling should be saved at 300 dpi in Grayscale (8-bit) mode with the extension *.tif.
