DOI REGISTRATION CENTER

The DOI Registration Center of the State Publishing House “Agrarian Science” of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine registers DOI indices under the prefix “10.31073“, which belongs to our publishing house, for articles of periodicals and monographs related to the scientific topics dealt with by the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine.

In a world where information has become the most valuable resource, ensuring that your research is visible and accessible is essential. This is where digital object identifiers, or DOIs, come in.

A DOI is a unique alphanumeric code that is assigned to articles, books, dissertations, and other scientific publications. It serves as a permanent and reliable reference to your material, no matter where it is published or how its location on the Internet changes. Think of a DOI as a digital fingerprint of your publication that always points to it.

Why are DOIs important?

Improved visibility: DOIs make your research easier to find online. They are indexed by search engines and scientific databases, which increases the chances that other researchers will find and cite your work.

  • Increased citation: The ease of searching and identifying your work with a DOI leads to more citations, which in turn increases your scientific credibility and impact.

  • Preservation of scientific heritage: DOIs ensure that your work remains accessible for a long time, even if the publisher changes its address or the publication is moved to another online archive.

  • Simplify information sharing: DOIs make it easy to share links to your publications in emails, social media, and other digital channels.

  • Integration with research tools: Many research platforms and bibliographic managers use DOI to automatically import and organize citations, saving you time and effort.

Benefits of using DOI for publishers:

  • Increasing the prestige of the publication: The presence of DOI in publications demonstrates the journal’s commitment to modern standards of scientific communication.

  • Attract a larger audience: DOIs make your publications more accessible to the international scientific community.

  • Increase work efficiency: DOIs simplify the process of managing and tracking citations of your publications.

Our DOI Registration Center will help you easily and quickly obtain DOIs for your scientific publications, ensuring their visibility, accessibility, and longevity in the digital world.

Ordering DOI Index Registration Services

Note 1: we remind you that the journal’s website to be registered in the DOI system must comply with the CrossRef Agency Requirements .
Note 2: we remind you that according to CrossRef rules, organizations that have started registering their periodic journal issues in the DOI system must register all issues for at least the last three years. That is, for the current year and for the two previous ones.
Note 3: Please note that when working with our publishing house, clients only pay for the DOI indexes themselves, and we pay the annual Crossref fee.

A representative of the organization that will register DOI indexes under our DOI prefix
«10.31073», must fill out the document
DOI-Request and send it to the email address doi@agrovisnyk.com with the subject:
REQUEST: <doi-suffix-of-journal>
(do not include the angle brackets <, > in the subject line!).

Usually, <doi-suffix-of-journal> is its Latinized abbreviation or shortened name.
For example, for the “Bulletin of Agrarian Science” the email subject will be:

REQUEST: agrovisnyk

Please note that the number of articles you specify in the DOI Request does not have to equal the number of articles in the next issue to be registered. You can order a larger number of articles so that you don’t have to enter into a contract with us each time for subsequent journal issues.

After receiving the DOI Request, we prepare an official Agreement in two copies (with an attached Act of Performance regarding the reservation of a certain number of DOI indexes) with our signatures, stamps, indication of our bank account, and send it to you by regular mail to the address you specified in the DOI Request.

You, in turn, put your signatures, stamps and send one copy of the agreement to us at the address
“Agrarian Science” Publishing House
of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine,
37 Vasylkivska St., Kyiv, Ukraine, 03022
,

after which you make a payment according to the amount specified in the agreement
(currently, the registration price for one article is 150 hryvnias, but the annual Crossref fee is not charged from you).

In the bank transfer, you must indicate the contract number under which this payment is made. More detailed payment terms will be set out in the contract sent to you.

Then you can proceed to actually sending metadata for registration (the rules for sending metadata are indicated below).

After the total cost of registered articles reaches the amount that was paid under the contract, this contract will be considered closed, and we will send you a notification about this by mail.

Rules for Submitting Metadata for Registration of Scientific Articles in the DOI System

To register content in the DOI system, a DOI index for the entire journal issue must first be created. All DOI indices of scientific journal issues registered under the DOI prefix (10.31073) of the “Agrarian Science” publishing house have the following general format: https://doi.org/10.31073/ <doi-journal-issue-suffix> where <doi-journal-issue-suffix> is assigned by the respective journal. For example, for issue No. 5 of the journal “Bulletin of Agrarian Science” published in 2018, the DOI index will be: https://doi.org/10.31073/agrovisnyk201805

Separate DOI indices must also be assigned to each article within the journal issue. The general format of an article DOI is: https://doi.org/10.31073/ <doi-article-suffix> where <doi-article-suffix> is assigned by the respective journal.

In most cases, <doi-article-suffix> is formed by combining <doi-journal-issue-suffix> with the sequential number of the article, i.e.: <doi-article-suffix> = <doi-journal-issue-suffix> + <article-number> For example, for the third article of issue No. 5 of the journal “Bulletin of Agrarian Science” published in 2018: https://doi.org/10.31073/agrovisnyk201805-03

From the technical email address specified in the DOI Request , an email must be sent to doi@agrovisnyk.com with the subject: DOI: <doi-journal-issue-suffix> For example: DOI: agrovisnyk201805

Each email message must contain only one ZIP archive named: <doi-journal-issue-suffix>.zip For example: agrovisnyk201805.zip

The archive file <doi-journal-issue-suffix>.zip must contain an XML file <doi-journal-issue-suffix>.xml , for example agrovisnyk201805.xml.

  1. If your journal website is built on the Open Journal Systems platform, you can export the XML file using the Crossref XML Export Plugin .
  2. If the journal website does not use Open Journal Systems, the XML file can be generated using the Crossref Web Deposit Form according to the instructions: Webdeposit-Instructions.pdf . After generating the XML file, it is necessary to replace the line with . After that, the correctness of the XML file must be verified using the following link: https://www.crossref.org/02publishers/parser.html . In this case, the archive <doi-journal-issue-suffix>.zip must also include text files in the format <doi-article-suffix>.txt (for example: agrovisnyk201805-01.txt, agrovisnyk201805-02.txt, agrovisnyk201805-03.txt), each containing a numbered reference list for the corresponding article. Each bibliographic reference must be placed on a single line.
